The Forney Fire Department, in partnership with the Forney Independent School District Air Force JROTC, NFHS and FHS student councils, Kaufman County Constable’s Office, Sharing the Love Foundation, St. Vincent de Paul, Forney Lion’s Club and other local organizations, are conducting their annual “Toys for Forney Kids” toy drive benefitting children in our community. What began as a small scale toy collection process has evolved into well organized event that in 2015 provided more than 400 children in Forney with toys during the holiday season.
Those wishing to donate toys for the campaign will be able to at several locations throughout the City including the Forney High School Library and main office, 1800 College Ave.; City Hall, 101 E. Main St.; Central Fire Station, 104 E. Aimee St.; Forney Sub-Courthouse, 200 E. Main St. and the Forney Food Pantry, 222 Industrial Dr. Donations can be made during each locations normal business hours and will be accepted through December 23. There will also be donation boxes during the Christmas on Main event on December 5. All toys should be in their original packaging without gift wrapping.
Those interested in donating toys will also be able to do so during the annual flag football game between the Forney Fire Department and the City of Forney staff. The game will be held at 2 p.m. on December 10 at Jackrabbit Stadium, 811 S. Bois d’Arc St. Admission to the game is free with a toy donation.
